Sam Stein Goes Rapid Fire On ‘The Ed Show’: Sestak vs. The White House, Blumenthal’s Vietnam Misstatement Apology, And Michael Steele On Rand Paul (VIDEO)
Sam Stein was in another round of “Rapid Fire,” taking to the airwaves with Republican strategist Ron Christie on “The Ed Show.”
During Monday’s edition, host Ed Schultz kicked things off with questions about possible bad blood between Democratic Senate nominee Joe Sestak and the White House, with Stein and Christie finding common ground on the need for more disclosure. The conversation moved to Connecticut Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal apologizing for misstatements about his service during (but not in) the Vietnam Warm, and concluded with a look at Michael Steele tap dancing around questions on Rand Paul’s controversial comments about the Civil Rights Act.

Roy Sekoff: Michele Bachmann Saying Idiotic Things Is like A Law of Nature (VIDEO)
Huffington Post editor Roy Sekoff appeared on “The Ed Show” Wednesday to discuss recent comments from Rep. Michele Bachmann.
This past weekend, the Minnesota Republican told a crowd in Duluth, Minn. that there is no evidence that black lawmakers were harassed by tea party protesters as they marched to the House before the health care vote. Bachmann said there is no evidence that civil rights leader and South Carolina Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) was called “nigger.” And despite video of the incident, Bachmann denied a protester spat upon Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO).

HuffPost political reporter Sam Stein appeared on “The Ed Show” Tuesday to discuss the U.S. labor movement and SEIU president Andy Stern’s decision to step down from the organization.
Ed Schultz argued that labor lost its biggest advocate when Sen. Ted Kennedy died and since then no one has stepped up to replace him. Stein said that it’s not for a lack of allies.

Roy Sekoff on Fox News: A Giant Can Of Gas Waiting For A Match (VIDEO)
Huffington Post editor Roy Sekoff appeared on “The Ed Show” Thursday evening to weigh in on recent threats of violence against elected officials and conservative media’s role in those threats.
Sekoff believes that by ratcheting up the violent rhetoric and imagery, Fox News risks inciting real violence. Fox is like “a giant can of gas waiting for a match,” Sekoff argued. “You go over to Fox and it’s like a Chinese water torture of fearmongering, with a drip, drip, drip, of nazism and race baiting… and all this kind of stuff. So, I think those kinds of things are seeping into the body politic.”

Ed Schultz Wants Congress to Regulate Talk Radio
This week, Ed Schultz from MSNBC’s The Ed Show invoked the idea that Congress should use the Fairness Doctrine to regulate talk radio.
In a laughable attempt to control ratings through government manipulation of the radio airwaves, Schultz says that conservatives are “low information voters” and therefore, the government has a responsibility to break up the free market supply and demand system used by radio station owners. Schultz claims that because the 5 largest commercial talk radio station owners run a majority of conservative shows on their stations, the government should step in to balance the numbers out – a kind of liberal affirmative action program for talk radio.
